New stadium, Nebraska (others?) joining the Big Ten club, more: attention, prestige, cachet . . . etc.

Time to ramp up the financial/institutional/spiritual commitment to the football program, which, like it or not . . . for better or worse . . . in the current landscape, and as clearly demonstrated this week - with crystalline clarity - is the stick that stirs the drink.

We cannot take a "wait and see" approach. We will need to act very quickly at the highest administrative and executive levels of the athletic department, if results are not seen soon. We are up against some Big Timers in the (potential) Western Division of the Big Ten (Osborne, Alvarez).

The grass in the new playing field is tall enough so as to require - demand, really - a truly big dog.

The million dollar question right there: Does Minnesota finally admit that certain college sports are big time business and that it's time to start treating them as such?

I agree with you on this. U of M is not run similar to many other big time programs, and that has to change.
