Bierman's last quality team and maybe his most talented (13 NFL draftees) holds Pitt to 5 first downs and -27 yards rushing. Gophers get 2 rushing scores and a touchdown pass from a Thief River Falls native and Anoka High grad. He led the Gophers in rushing in 3 seasons before playing 3 years in the CFL. A Minnesota legend, he was an honorary captain at Minnesota's first game in TCF Stadium. Can you name him?

Minnesota 44 Indiana 20
Leading 27-20 with 10:00 left, Gophers get a clinching 61-yard pick-6 from a senior defensive back from Texas. Despite going undrafted, he had a 5-year NFL career with the Dolphins and Lions. Can you name him?
The victim of this theft was a maddening, do-everything quarterback who led Indiana to 2 wins over Minnesota in 3 games before going on to a 9-year NFL career that was highlighted by a Super Bowl Championship. Can you name him?

Minnesota 14 Purdue 7
Gophers snap a 7-7 tie in the 4th quarter on John Hankinson's 43-yard scoring connection with a senior receiver from the LA area who would go on to an 8-year career as an NFL tight end with the Vikings and 3 other teams. Can you name him?
Purdue's quarterback is a sophomore who would go on to lead his team to 3 Super Bowls. Can you name him?

Minnesota 14 at Michigan State 10
Gophers beat Spartans for the 6th time in a row (1970 would make it 7 times) as a senior quarterback from Eau Claire hits tight end Ray Parson with a 31-yard scoring pass with 4:00 to play. He is also the first Gopher quarterback to post a 300-yard passing game. Can you name him?

November 16, 1968
Minnesota 20 at Indiana 6
Down 6-0 at the half, Gophers win going away with 3 scoring plunges by a junior fullback from South St. Paul who would go on to play for 9 seasons as a linebacker for the Packers. Can you name him?
The previous season featured Indiana's only Rose Bowl trip. Their option quarterback returned for 1968 and absorbed a terrific pounding from the Gophers on this day. Can you name him?

Leo: Here are my answers (guesses):
1. Billy Bye
2. Jimmy Wyrick and Antoine Randle-El
3. Kent Kramer and Bob Griese
4. Phil Hagen
5. Jim Carter and Harry Gonzo

I bet the Ford guy is furiously googling these questions right now.
