Tommie Talk & the Torvik (T-Rank) Rankings
St. Thomas (5-3, 3-5 ATS) remains at #147. Fresh off their Portland Invitational championship the Tommies host the Division III Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) Vikings tonight at 7 p.m. at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena. They'll be looking to protect the nation's second-longest home winning streak (20), trailing only Duke (21).
Undefeated Lawrence (5-0) is led by 6-6 junior forward Casey Schoenecker, who leads the Vikings in both scoring (17.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.4 rpg). Six-foot-five junior forward Nicholas Gouriotis and 6-7 junior forward CJ Campbell, both averaging 11.6 ppg, have combined to shoot 18-for-40 (45%) from three-point territory. As a team the Vikings are shooting 37.3% from long distance, but just 59.5% from the free-throw line.
No in-game tweeting tonight, as this is the first of two Tommie home games this guy will miss this season.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
The Minnesota Gophers are giving Rutgers a run for its money as the worst Power 5 hoops team for 2025-26. The (bottom) "Magnificent Seven" based on current Torvik rankings, with last NCAA Tournament appearance in parentheses:
#129 Rutgers (2022)
#114 Boston College (2009)
#112 Utah (2016)
#101 Georgia Tech (2021)
#100 Penn State (2023)
#99 Minnesota (2019)
#98 South Carolina (2024)
Niko Medved will fix this, but it's another long campaign ahead for Gopher fans who haven't tasted the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
