New Orleans 85, Tulane 63: Don't look now, but McNeese may have some company at the top of the Southland standings once January rolls around. UNO (2-1) now owns road victories over teams from the Big XII (TCU) and American (Tulane),
UCF 86, Texas A&M 74: "Buckyball" (under new head coach Bucky McMillan) is not off to a good start in College Station, as A&M falls at home to the Knights. The Aggies (2-2) have lost a pair of games to Big XII opponents by a combined 36 points.

The Big East (currently 1-8 vs. the Power 5 + Gonzaga) appears headed for a rough Selection Sunday. UConn & Saint John's, of course, will be national heavyweights, and Creighton likely will be a third team in The Dance. But right now, I'm having a really difficult time finding a fourth tourney bid. Georgetown. ... maybe?
