Schadenfreude (/ˈʃɑːdənfrɔɪdə/ ; German:[ˈʃaːdn̩ˌfʁɔʏ̯də] ; lit.Tooltip literal translation "harm-joy") is the experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of the troubles, failures, pain, suffering, or humiliation of another.

Sorry, Irish, but you can kiss my arse. You have spent the last 90 years plus having your asses kissed. Now you run away like the petulant child that you are. Nice present to your Seniors.

Bite us all.

And now I'm seeing their AD will hold a press conference tomorrow and he stated this morning that the ACC has done "permanent damage" to the relationship.

Maybe they fit better with the SEC.

Should join the Big Ten! The hockey teams already have. Love to see our Gophers take on the Irish on the gridiron!

Let them end their ACC relationship.
I would LOVE to see ND go full independent again, only to have everyone else say:

"Yeah, we're not going to schedule you anymore. We have conference games to play, and then we'll pad the NC schedule with cupcakes. Best of luck!"

No decent matchups means no big NBC contract. Let them be stuck filling their schedule with low level FCS teams because nobody else wants to deal with their BS.

Notre Dame needs the rest of college football far more than the rest of college football needs them at this point.

Their 2026 Schedule
Wisconsin at Lambeau (4-12)
Rice Owls (5-7)
Navy in Foxborough (9-2)
Michigan State (4-8)
Miami (10-2)
Boston College (2-10)
SMU (8-4)
Stanford (4-8)
@Purdue (2-10)
@North Carolina (4-8)
@Syracuse (3-9)
USC TBD on Site (9-3)

Possibly 3 true road games and 2 if you consider Purdue is in Indiana

With most of the high ups and AD’s in ncaa being catholic that’s not gonna happen.

Obviously never know how much teams will change over the off season but on paper that is a really soft scheduled based on how the teams were in 2025 at least.

BYU was on the outside looking in with an 11-1 record and a tougher schedule than this.

They better pray that both Miami and USC are good again.

If I’m B1G commissioner I’m on phone with ND to seal the deal on getting them to join

I don't think they can. I thought there was some kind of grant of rights deal that if they join a conference for football, it has to be the ACC through a certain year.

I think that’s about to be blown up from the lawsuit brought by Clemson, NC, FSU

Schadenfreude of a team/fanbase that never even thinks of you is kinda silly.

I wish the Irish had gotten in. I like rooting for them to lose.

I just know my Notre Dame fan brother-in-law who is neither:
A) Catholic
B) Irish
C) From Indiana

...is very heart broken today.

My buddy that's a massive Notre Dame fan believes the USC rivalry is probably dead. The Irish schedule will be even weaker. I can't image Wisconsin scheduling Notre Dame in the future, either. MSU might eventually balk as well after 2027.

Notre Dame is a B1G member in the next 3 years. Both are in bed with NBC, it's just going to happen at this point.

Those Notre Dame pogues do not want to share Football television rights revenue with a conference, they will blame the exclusivity in the contract they negotiated. Bunch of toddlers that school is.
