All the in-and-out buckets, even dunks that go through the rim aren't counted, players whining and quitting, major injuries, run-ins with the law, Hoff unable to hit the big shots recently, even the refs don't seem to give us a home court advantage anymore, at least not in close games (yet there's certainly an anti-Gopher bias on the road).

The thing that really gets me through all of this, though, is that (1) we can't seem to make an easy bucket, including free throws and layups and bunnies, and (2) our opponents can't seem to miss any important shots, especially free throws and late-game shots, especially second-half 3s. I don't understand how our opponents keep making some of these shots. That Virginia game was the perfect example, but if you go back even to last season, there were some games that no matter what, the opponent just couldn't miss a shot (OSU BTC game). How long will this continue - our shots rimming out, opponents all going in? I can't even remember the last time our opponent struggled to finish a game.... vs. Northwestern, maybe?

Do others recognize this too, or am I just imagining things?

You are right about much of it, but Illinois was terrible tonight, just less terrible than us (said to us by an Illinois fan).

How can it be that two dunks in two games are goal tending and it goes against us?

I blame Clem

Yeah. It was a pretty fugly game in which neither team really played all that well, neither even being able to hit 40% of their shots and neither being able to hit 3's for crap, and also featuring tons o' turnovers and missed layups/dunks galore. We did manage to outrebound them, but once again we get killed at the free throw line- they hit on 85% of their free throws, going 23-27, while our ineptitude at the line continues by converting only 59% of our free throws, going 10-17.

That's another way in which this team is terribly flawed right now. I mean other than Hoffharber, we just really can't seem to hit our free throws for anything, and that is a serious weakness right there. You've *got* to be able to take advantage of 'free' points like that, and we leave far, far, far too many of those points just sitting out there on the floor.
