The lingerie football league has suspeneded US football operations. I guess you could say it was a bust. We had a team here as you all know. But now you guys have extra discretionary money to spend at other venues.

No pun intended? "....it was a bust"

R.I.P. (get it?)

In the annals of sports history, it not surprising to hear come-and-go stories about leagues like this. When one thinks about the extremely small string on which they were operating, it was quite easy to anticipate, and ultimately witness, the end. To their many fans who must have loved this league, it no doubt was hard. I'm sure those same fans are spending a lot of time wondering about all the players and what they think should happen to them - especially the ones who bounced around the league a lot during their career. Perhaps the players will take the necessary time to get it all off their chests - but if not, one can take comfort knowing they'll be getting all the support they deserve, and in some cases, need. Being an optimist, I am certain the exposure they've gotten through the league has given them both the know-how to dig in their heels and press on, and the cheeky resolve to get a leg (or two) up on whatever is put in front of them.

"Adieu", Lingerie Football League - while your version of "Cover 2" will not be missed, the NFL's version of the Slot Receiver just won't have the same cachet.

The LFL Commissioner stated that they are just going on a hiatus until April of 2013 so they can use it as a spring/summer league instead of during the fall when NFL, College and High School football are being played. This way they can try to capture more of the market of football fans. They are also expanding to Canada and Europe.

BRILLIANT!

Word was the league had seen a significant rise in concussion type symptoms. Turns out they were signing too many blondes.

One of the teams needs to sign Jennifer Love Hewitt. Her guns would help keep the league afloat.

How can I take this league seriously when the athletes involved are wearing hockey helmets? I'm spotting CCM equipment with the white & teal team....

What kind of athletic freak show are they trying to sell me here?

If I told you that Dave Lee is going to be the announcer for the games will that help in answering your question?
