Two 3-point shooting teams, and we continue to leave 3-point shots wide open. What gives? I'd like to see Portland and TA&M hit some shots inside before I start leaving the 3-line open. We know what they're good at - shooting. Yet we let them do exactly what they want. As much as I like Tubby, IMO, that's bad coaching the past two games.

I agree, especially when playing the twin towers. Let Ralphie and Colton do their jobs and have our guards play straight up on the perimeter.

not sure

not sure but I dont think it was part of tubby's "scheme" to be leaving those 3 point shooters wide open with enough time to eat a sandwich. I think our lads were having some "issues" on D.

The same basic scheme has been going on for all 3 years of Tubby now: guards double down on interior passes. Most times, especially with Colton and Ralph guarding those men, this is not necessary. It's disappointing to see the same double-down over and over no matter the opponent.

true, but usually someone is quicker to respond to the pass to the open 3 shooter. end of that last half some of our guys had headlights in their eyes... frozen.

We never did recover from that poor defense in the first half. It didn't even seem like the Gophers were trying the second part of the first half. 4-2, oh well. If we beat Miami on the road that will make up for the past two debacles.
