We're not exactly finishing strong...

finishing strong

In order to say we are not finishing strong we would need to be near the finish. This years recruiting is far from over. Look for the 11th hour changing of commitments

Be careful what you wish for because nothing says the 11th hour changing on committments won't work against us.

The only thing that Brewster has delivered on to date is recruiting. Even when he had only two weeks to recruit, he still enticed some players that looked good on paper to join the program.

Let's see how things pan out over the next couple of weeks. If Brewster doesn't deliver a top 25 class, then we have a problem. We've seen that a single big recruit can launch the ranking up around 25. We're two 18 year old kids making up their minds/changing their minds from a top 25 class right now (at least on signing day).

whaddya do? I will say this, though - Auburn isn't exactly on the rise right now. New coach (who had no success at ISU), who is already under a huge microscope and is competing in-state against one of the five most prominent programs in the country.

My point being - Auburn, while a program with huge support and a great tradition, is facing a very uphill battle.

So, good luck to Nosa. We'd have loved to have him, but oh well.

I don't think there is any problem if he doesn't land a top 25 class.

Where have Boise State's and Utah's recruiting classes been ranked?

I am someone who is a believer in the correlation between ranked classes and success on the field (to an extent), but the challenge for Brewster and his staff and take a recruiting class ranked in the top 35 when they are incoming freshman and turn them into a top 15 rated team when they are juniors/seniors - develop the talent, make them better than they are supposed to be, and win.

That is the determining factor in a coach's ability. Rivals.com, Scout.com, and Tom Lemming are not.

Oh crap, we are in trouble then, because while Brewster is a good recruiter his coaching ability leaves a little to be desired.

I am disappointed Nosa is joining Roof at Auburn, but I think it was pretty obvious that he wasn't going to come to Minnesota. When Nosa didn't commit to the Gophers quickly following his de-commit from Colorado and then scheduled visits to other schools, the writing was on the wall.

It's certainly not much consolation, but it is nice to be genuinely disappointed about not getting a Texas kid who had offers from Colorado and Auburn.

Ill be shocked if were Top 30. Just being honest, but its not a big deal to me since Gray, Maresh, and Reeves technically are in this class. Id love to see us get Wingo though.

Refresh my memory, who did we get in that first class Coach Brewster recruited that had not already committed here before he was hired? I forget.

Kyle Theret, another safety that had committed to Kansas State (no longer w/team), his son (also no longer w/team), Harold Howell, and then several other guys later in the spring that are no longer w/the team (Ralph Spry and at least one other receiver). It was so late, the kid taken from Kansas State was the big prize, but again he left.
