Horrid day for Nerdwestern

Very strange news about Mark. Tough break for the Cats!

Great news...drastically increases the likelihood of a victory for us.

This is getting interesting. Suspensions at TCU, injuries at Nebraska, injuries and transfers at Northwestern. Now all we need is a sorority incident in Iowa City and a point-shaving scandal in Madison and we can have a look at this thing.

This sounds like a bad situation . I feel for him and wish him the best.

Just read on wiki that his brother, cousin and best friend were all murdered right before he left for NW. Hard life.

Yikes. Good luck to you Venric.

We'll see what Fitzgerald pulls out of his hat this time. I know their QB can sling it around alright.

Given the location and the schools reputations I would think the sorority incident is far more likely to happen in Madison and the point shaving in Iowa.

Very interesting situation with Mark, love it from a football standpoint since it eliminates a weapon from their roster but hopefully the kid can get his life sorted out because he is a very talented football player.

Mark is a big loss for Northwestern. One of their major weapons. And at this time of the year, that hurts.

Christian Jones was no slouch, either. He had 54 catches for 688 yards last year, with his best game coming last against Illinois (13 catches for 182 yards).

Should I feel guilty about wishing Braxton Miller, Devin Gardner, and Ameer Abdullah some ill luck right now?

Rough couple of years for NW & Mark. Can't help but root for them each year (besides when they play us of course).

Oh wow. That is awful. Hopefully he is doing what is best for him, which sounds like the case.

Oh, boo hoo for Northwestern. They've lived a charmed life for far too long, and last year was the regression to the mean for all their annoying 'pull it outta their rear' wins over the last decade.

Attrition by injury, transfer, etc. is part of college football. No pity from this guy for the purple.

Folks, let's not tempt fate here.

I see Gopher fans openly wishing (hoping) for misfortune to befall other B1G teams, and my first (superstitious) thought is - if we're not careful, those bad vibes could boomerang and come right back at the Gophs.

I agree with short ornery norwegian

We have already had two players suffer major ACL injuries this year in a potential starting linebacker and a tight end that by all accounts was making great strides and would have played. I know a lot are calling out other teams in jest for potential injury's or scandals but let's not bring any more bad juju to our team and players. Call it stupid but I agree with norwegian let's not tempt fate and bring on any ill will towards the Gophers. We have had decades worth of that humility already.

I'm certainly not wishing misfortune on other Big Ten teams, but I'm not going to throw pity their way when misfortune strikes them either.

Oh, who am I kidding, I DO wish misfortune on Wisconsin and Iowa. Hoping for some kind of horrible, fiery, knee-buckling, spine-cracking bus crash when both squads are being delivered to Kinnick for their game this November.
