not everything is true on the net
not everything is true on the net
Now that is just rude!STFU
I swear you are Mona or Maturi
I hope this is finished tonight - I have a busy day at work tomorrow.
I don't mean to repeat myself but word this morning from a donor who is a close family friend (best friend's father) is that the hire has been made and that this person has a strong record of graduating players. This donor has played a big role in Gophers football and TCF Bank Stadium so I trust his information quite a bit. If we take him at his word then there is no way Chryst is the hire. Again, I am not an insider and am only conveying the information I got via texting with my buddy today after he had talked to his father. If I'm wrong and misleading everyone, my apologies.
This stuff is crazy though
the hire has been made and that this person has a strong record of graduating players.
That could still mean Kill who graduated 72% of his players.
Not before, but it should be a strong part of the equation for sure. I don't think with the field of possibles out there the university has to settle for one or the other.thank God, because this comes before winning, right?
Technically, yes. It is a university, after all.thank God, because this comes before winning, right?
It's up to the coach to foster an environment of accountability. That should extend to the classroom and the field.Graduation rates at other schools are irrelevant unless we're talking Harbaugh or other schools of similar ilk.
Do you really think as AD you want to announce that your new hire's best quality is graduation rates?
If it were up to me graduation rates beyond NCAA min are a bonus tacked on to whatever on field success there may be. graduation is primarily a player motivation thing, and while a coach cannot sap all of a player's time, he can also not be dedicated 100% of the time to being the player's dads and getting them to go to class on time.
Technically, yes. It is a university, after all.
Because we care too much about kids? That can't be it.And this is why we are Minnesota.
And this is why we are Minnesota.
I thought you might be interested in reading this web page:

This is the thread where someone posted the graduation rates for various head coaching candidates who have been batted around on the GH. Edsall is at or above 80% if I recall. Kill is high. Obviously, Stanford is really high. Anyway, might be worth reading through if you're interested in the graduation rates as a possible indicator of who has been hired. And, again, my donor source could have been misled but he's close with both Maturi and Bruininks so at this point I'm still thinking he probably knows.
