We all know you think it's cute and funny to post stupid, made-up things to the board. But can you not post coaching search-related threads unless they're actually truthful and relevant to the subject at hand? GopherHole thanks you!
 

"Truthful" is subjective with Twitter rumors and the rumor vomit kings at Footballscoop.com, but I agree. Unless it's coming from a recognized media source (i.e. "journalist" or someone connected to a news making business), it's really just clogging the main page and making me crazy.
 


Personally, I like hearing all of the gossip via the tweets, footballscoop, etc. At some time there may actually be a grain of truth to them. What does drive me nuts is that so many people here
believe this stuff and then quote it forever as if it was true.

That said, maybe we should ban all rumors - then I wouldn't be refreshing this page 500 times a day.

How is it any different than you starting yet another BS thread to whine about it? Nobody is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to read these posts you're referring to....

A) It's not whining.
B) How else am I supposed to ask idiots to stop? Braille? Walkie-talkie? I don't think those will work on a sports-themed internet message board.
 

Admittedly I messed things up by putting Tredwell instead of Tedford but I think adding that I had "no inside information whatsoever" kind of indicates I didn't make anything up.

I guess plainly stated predictions are not allowed. Strange, considering predictions about the Gophers have been a fairly standard part of this message board for some time.

Don't read their posts. Simple solution.
 





It would be easier if there was just ONE coaching search thread (or one thread per any topic for that matter). The folks over at GopherPuckLive do a much better job of keeping multiple threads about the same topic from happening. But that would require a much higher level of monitoring and I don't know if gopherhole has those kinds of resources.
 


I found it actually refreshing earlier today when a couple threads put notes about "not an insider" or similar right in the subject line. There is room for discussion about any coach and I think it is fine to post threads about them as long as it isn't done in a misleading way that looks like it is some sort of breaking news. In other words, I agree completely and I am getting sick of the "give me attention" threads that are popping up. Some people are doing a nice job of saying right in the title that they are quoting tweets, blogs, etc. but other are just goofy attempts at gaining attention.

Inside information not in new thread

The new coach, according to someone close to the situation, is going to be male. Another reliable source indicate that the new coach will have some previous college or pro experience as a HC, coordinator, assistant, or grad student

I agree! I'm just not sure with what. I do know that if I wanted facts I'd call Sid rather than read the Gopher Hole. 'Cuz Sid knew the parents of people who know.

A person doesnt know they are BS posts until you actually read them. So there we are--reading them. And I hate BS posts too. They arent funny.
