Damn. I guess I will have to sit alone and drink beer today for excitement.

Watch the other"football" cup plays to help ease the real football withdrawal symptoms.

This is what would happen if Kill was here in town today.
Sid Hartman was not in today as he was recovering from a sparkler injury the other night. Mike Max has been too busy looking at himself in the mirror lately so Mona went solo.
Kill reports that recruiting is going very well. He stress that we have some good recruits out there that will fill in nicely in our program.
As to the rumors of fund raising. He sounded upbeat and he said it only takes on good loyal Gopher fan to get things going. He sounded positive that someone would take the lead and that the others will follow along. Lou Nanne is in Florida at his summer home and has not been available for comment lately.
Asked who was standing out and he quickly said P_____. I didn't quite catch it, but I think we all know who is it. Many leaders on the team and the team working very well together as a unit. These guys want to succeed. While he is anxious to get the season going Kill recongizes the fact that the season is typically won in the off season and the team needs to continue to work hard in the summer if they want to win the games in the fall.
Asked what Bowl game the team wants to go to. Kill responded that we'll let the system play out and we want to end up with the best bowl game possible. Can't get to far ahead of ourselves. Talk is cheap. He said he'll leave that to the sportcasters who think they know where everyone is going 6 months from now.
Kill was asked how date night is going. He sounded upbeat and he said great. He encouage anyone who wants a good time with the coaches to sign up and they won't regret it. Everyone has had good experiences from our past date nights and he indicated that he wanted to do something different this year. As one who has gone on a date night with my wife. I will tell you that we both had a great time and you won't regret it. Yes it costs a little but this is something that goes to our program and if everyone chips in we can put a dent in our program as to the things that we need.
With that Kill stated that he and his wife Rebecca were heading off to spend some quality time with the family today and wishes everyone a great Fourth of July Holiday. Laughingly he said he hopes that Sid can learn how to handle a sparkler in the future.

So you've already forgotten about your new pup?

I'm calling PETA.

I didn't mean it that way. I will sit alone with my baby, drink beer, share spilled beer with him, and wallow in misery because Coach Kill was not on. Beautiful sunny days suck.

In case you missed it, on the Sports Huddle, Dave Mona gave a nice shout-out to DL65 (using his real name). He mentioned that DL65 transcribes the Kill interviews for Gopher Hole, and also said DL65 passed along a note about a former Gopher basketball player who died recently.

Congrats to DL65! Sunday mornings wouldn't be the same without you.
