Gopher alum and Twin Cities native Nick Rallis (former Arizona Cardinals DC) is available after the dismissal of HC Jonathan Gannon.

Do we think he's got a future in M&G?

I'd take it, but I think he has his sights set higher.

Not sure he fits our defensive scheme unless we make some tweaks. Having a Defensive Head coach and not being very good on defense isn't the best look. All his experience is NFL outside of his first year at Wake Forest as Quality Control. Don't think he's a fit.

Plus Vikings will likely be looking for a new defensive DC and staff.

His sights may be set higher, but is there a market for him to rise higher in the short term?

He was the DC on a team that in 2025 was bad and bad on defense. (they were better on D in his prior years). There's probably not a slot for him in 2026 for a DC role in the NFL.

That means either NFL position coach or college DC is his next best option.

I would love it but I think he will get opportunities as a position coach in the NFL that pay more.
