Nick Rallis named Eagles LB coach

I don’t know how much NFL assistants make but crazy to think he last played for us in 2016 and he already has a better coaching gig than a guy like Billy Miller, his old LB coach, who has been in coaching for 40 years. Crazy career trajectory.

I find it interesting too. Being Norv Turner's son obviously helped his son Scott. But I'm still amazed that he and another former UNLV QB are where they currently are (neither was a star player). Yes I know that being a good player and being a good coach are two completely different things, but these two's coaching careers have taken off. Steichen did play at UNLV for John Robinson who I heard assisted him with making NFL contacts. https://www.reviewjournal.com/sport...ne-steichen-scott-turner-now-nfl-ocs-2102794/

Your ability to play and your ability to coach are almost completely unrelated.
Your ability to coach and your position you hold as a coach are often unrelated

As in every profession, who you know and how risk averse you are impacts your trajectory as much or more than your ability.
There are high school coaches around the country that could coach circles around some nfl position coaches. (That doesn’t mean they should get those jobs)

Isaac Fruechte is the OC and WR coach at Northern State
Donell Kirkwood is the RB coach at Northern State
Keanon Cooper is the DC at Augburg
Thomas Barber is the LB coach at Augsburg
Winston Delatiboudere is a graduate assistant at Charlotte
And Rallis is the LB coach of the Eagles.

Don't you think this is rather unusual to be coaching in the pros this quickly? I would think you need to pay your dues somewhere. Along with that, I would think he would be coaching guys who are older than him as he is so young.

That honestly is cool that many ex Gopher players are coaches. Hopefully more come through the pipeline and establish a reputation.

Don't forget Aaron Hill is an Asst. S&C coach for the 49ers

It does feel like a really quick rise to a NFL position coaching role but he got into coaching right after his playing days ended and apparently has been with the Vikings staff for the past 3 years. And to be honest it may be far more common than any of us realize as I would guess most of us would have a tough time naming very many position coaches in the NFL right now.

He must be doing something right on the coaching front. Hope it works out well for him.

I know Charlie Strong, former D1 HC at 3 stops, is now the Jags LB coach, Chris Ash is the Jags DB coach and Darrell Hazell, was the Vikings WR coach after he got fired by Purdue. And Rallis has just as good of a job as any of them right now.

Nice to see our last two coaching staffs developing some interest in future coaches.

(Copy and paste-I had never heard of this guy-had to look it up).
James Andrew Leonhard (born October 27, 1982) is the defensive coordinator of the Wisconsin Badgers football team. He is a former American football safety who played ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Leonhard was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2005 after playing college football at the University of Wisconsin. He also played for the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and Cleveland Browns.

Who the Fk cares? Are we going to start a thread on all possible coaching interviews?
😂😂 Did we start a new thread about Jim Leonard? But thank you for taking the time to share your insight with us, hopefully someone cares that you took the time to post.

Thought someone might find it interesting that the Badgers may lose their D coordinator. No need to board police with vulgar language unless of course that is how you communicate.
