I predicted that Michigan would play strong. They did before they became deflated.

Frankly, I was shocked that they started Morris. My biggest fear was that we would run him from the
game, and a fresh Gardner would come in and give us trouble. Had Gardner started, Michigan would have
had a chance and played better overall. However, it looked like the Gophers were the better team.

This was a great road win. Any time you win on the road in the BIG its a big win. Its a great time to
have an open week!

Phenomenal game plan & execution by the offense. Came out throwing, for God's sake! Then hit 'em with Mr. Cobb, drove the stake in the heart later on with another (gulp) pass to Mighty Maxx Williams. Man, can our coaches ever coach. This has got to drive our recruiting into another orbit, given the TV exposure today.

A very proud Gopher alum, I saw my first game at Memorial in '67 & have been far too long in the wilderness since that co-Big Ten title season. The future looks very bright, indeed!

Michigan seemed broken. One play told me a lot:

When Morris was hurt and Gardner lost his lid and had to sit for a play, they wanted a qb out on the field. They
had one, but he couldn't find his helmet. He kept trying lids on to no avail. They ended up sending Morris back in.
That doesn't happen if your team is really into a ballgame. I wonder if Hoke is losing his team......

Carlson- exactly. I had sensed that they were keeping things very simple and were gonna pull a whole new gameplan
out for this game. The defense was superb, the special teams were solid, and the offense did nicely against what really
is a good defense. The Michigan defense is what kept them in it for so long.

Maxx Williams is real player. Leidner did very well. Bonticelli is a beast. The DBs are VERY good......

Oh....and Cobb gets better every time I see him play
