"I mentioned earlier how PJ Fleck's team allowed 41 points in four October Big Ten games. That's good. But it's even more impressive when you look even further behind the curtain.

- 14 points from Illinois came off of Tanner Morgan

- 14 points from Maryland and Rutgers came late in fourth quarter where Minnesota's starters were out

That puts you down to 13 points allowed by the defense in October. 3.25 points per game. Joe Rossi's defense in non-fourth quarters this past month allowed six total points in 12 quarters. Six. 1.5 ppg."

Great work by Burns in this piece, well worth click on the link as he takes a very fair look at where we have been and where we are hopefully headed.

Been saying for a while that our defense deserves a lot more credit then they have been getting for the way they have been playing. Purdue, Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland and Nebraska are not great teams, but with the exception of Rutgers they all have the ability to put some points on the board.

Exciting time to be a Gopher fan, here's hoping they can finish off the year with a Big Ten West Championship at a minimum and who knows maybe even more. West felt like it was in play coming into the season but you never know how things are going to shake out.

November 9th can't get here soon enough!
