per Marcus:

"I'm so proud of these guys," said Carter, who trains youth football players in the Twin Cities. "Great teams always find ways to win games no matter how it goes. They've been doing that. To me, I'm so excited because we have a great team. We have more talent than we've had collectively in I don't know how many years. That team has more talent than when I was there. And we went 8-3 (in 1999)."

"Kill has got that program turned around," Bell said. "The Nebraska win was very impressive. But all of the wins are impressive. I sit there watching, and these guys are giving everything they've got. I'm excited about it. Everybody should be excited about it."

"They go out there now and aren't expecting to lose," Foggie said. "Coach Kill has got his guys believing in his system. Like I talked to him a couple weeks ago, he said we don't have the best guys that some of these other schools have. But they're giving 100 percent effort when they step out onto that field."

"Everybody expected them to get better and better," Chip Lohmiller said. "But, man, they're playing great. It's been positive for the program, the school, the city, the state. Everybody's been talking about them. It's fun to see the Gophers having a winning season and playing the way they're playing. They're playing so tough."

Go Gophers!!

The large majority of alumni have always been interested in the Gopher's football team. But we have only heard from them when the team has been on a run of winning games. Which is to say we haven't heard from them all that often since 1967. And that is part of the problem. When the top football programs in the county stop winning for a period of time their alumni (and fans) get loud and demanding. They demand changes - like firing football coaches, AD's, and even college presidents who are not sufficiently committed to winning football games

I live across the river in Hudson. I've been amazed at the number Minnesota hats, shirts, and jackets I've seen around lately.
Who doesn't love a winner.
