This is the best section of the schedule for the Gophers. If they are going to make a season of this we need at least one big upset and some minor ones over the next 8 games:

@indiana WIN!
@psu
vs.NW
@msu
vs.Ill
@iowa
@nebraska
vs.wisky

The only game that seems impossible to me is the MSU game. Indiana has more talent this year than in the past but the big thing is that they have won by effort and shooting. I don't see it as impossible that we could go down there and catch them napping a bit.

Let's go 6-2 and restore this season by playing harder than everybody else! (I know- one game at a time- blah, blah, blah- but that's for the players, I'm a fan). C'mon Tubby and Gophers- let's go, time to prove all the doubters, including me, wrong!

Trying to remain optimistic BGA, but I see 4-4 at best (more likely 3-5) in those 8.

If we go 6-2 in an 8-game stretch that includes 5 road games, we're talking major miracle.

I've become resigned to the fact that, in hindsight, the missed opportunity at Illinois set the tone for the entire season. How much different would things look if we convert a 1-and-the-bonus at the end of regulation or a bunny at the end of the first OT? Would have been an immediate confidence builder for a team that needed it, on the road, at a tough venue. Instead, another lost opportunity (Michigan) -- at a less imposing venue -- and two stinkers at home followed.

If they keep playing like they have been 3-5 is optimistic. Things would have to change. Effort, defense, coaching, luck and lineup all have to be better.

That's the rub. I think 4-4 or 3-5 is optimistic even if we play well.

With 5 road games in that stretch (though they played relatively well @ Illinois and Michigan), it's hard to envision a 6-2 stretch happening. But hey, I'm never gonna completely doubt my favorite squad's chances to shock everyone. I hope we go 8-0 haha.

6-2 or 5-3 would be nice, but as the above posters mentioned, they way the Gophs have played 2-6 seems like a real possibility. The way Wisc is playing they should lose at Williams though.

Beat Indiana and the list looks a lot more promising.

It will be interesting. The gophers are a tough team to predict.

Beating Indiana would be a MAJOR momentum builder.
Games like that are the kind that turn a season around.

Losing at I U and Penn St. could be too much to overcome though
That would put the Gophers at a 0-6 start. Too much of a hole to recover from.

But, that's why they play the games.

IN year 5 of Tubbyball, this is seen as a major miracle!!!! While other teams do it, here it is a major miracle!!!!

losers, but I think you already know that. And that's why you don't see me on here making excuses for the Gophers' current plight.

Can you trot out your infamous "Gophers are on an unlevel playing field" excuse one more time for all of us? Just once for old time's sake? It always made for a good laugh. I could use a hearty laugh right about now.

Love the rah-rah attitude bga, we need more of it around here these days.

I just don't see us beating Indiana, MichSt, or even Wisconsin during this stretch, but I'm optimistic enough to feel that 4-4 is possible (beat PSU, NU, Iowa, and Nebraska). Illinois at our place is winnable too, but with 5 of the 8 games on the road, 4 is as much as I'll say we can win.

Gotta get off the schnide, and some more wins will follow!

We get it. Trust me, EVERYONE GETS IT. Everyone knows your opinion. People on buckyville probably know your opinion. Take a break, like a 5 minute break, and just breath.

I'd say 6-2 is very doable. Not a miracle by any means. IMO, they lose at Indiana and at MSU, but every other game is up for grabs.

Wisky is 1-3 and lost 3 straight, 2 at home, and obliterated by a Michigan team MN played pretty close. They aren't so scary anymore. Almost beat Illinois away, why not at home? Should be able to win at penn state. Showed stretches against Iowa of dominance, we are the better team, put together even half a game and that's a win. Nebraska has the same record as MN, very winnable. Northwestern is nothing special, play tough D on them and anything is possible. MSU and Indiana will be tough, but definitely have a shot at least (they do still play the game) I don't see 6-2 as being too out there.

1-7 probable! Should be able to beat NW unless they shoot lights out. All other games are looking like L's...

This stretch is definitely going to make or break their NIT hopes.

When people made their conference record predictions, I don't think the folks who predicted 10 wins took account of exactly what that meant in terms of who we'd have to beat and where. This is a tough conference, even the lesser teams.

Laugh if you want, seems like a time to not laugh however.

Perhaps you and your cohort could treat tubby as you treated Monson SS. It seems tough for some folks here to level the same vigor with this head coach. Why? You wont admit you were wrong?

Reality sucks SS.

Now, why cant MN win at BB? Does it have anything to do with differing standards across the NCAA schools landscape? Tough to prove out, certainly. Seems strange that many schools can win and MN cant. Sure seems like there is more to the story, dont you think?

Now that I took a break, am I allowed to rejoin the discussion ?

Vandelay Hotel & Casino in Vegas has the line at 2.5 W's in the next 8 games.

If Indiana blows us out, it will suck, but won't be the end of the world. I think most people expect that at this point.

If PSU also blows us out, the season is over.

I'm praying for a miracle where we win both of them and get right back on the NCAA tournament bubble.

Part one of your prayer has been answered. On to Penn State.

We could be at 500 by the end of the month. God willing and the creeks don't rise.

I stand by this statement lol
