I just went on rivals and their headline was Minnesota has a new walk-on and I also saw they had an article on Luke Trucilla I'm guessing its him but I can't confirm it though. I'm excited if it is but I wonder if we don't fill up by Wednesday if we will give him and Bjorklund scholarships depending on how close we are to 25.

Trucilla is a pretty impressive kid. I really hope it's him.

As far as Bjorklund, I don't think it's an issue with us not wanting to give him a scholarship. He will be on scholarship at the U, I think we prefer to start his eligibility clock a year later. We have a few OL already in this class, so it's nice to spread out the prospects and Bjorklund is a kid who really needs to get stronger. So I think even with open scholarships, we'd prefer to have Joe wait until Jan. 2012 before he officially joins the team.

I actually don't really think it is a really wanting a 6th year thing with Bjorkland...it is a we've already got so many linemen, so if we can fill the spot with a non-Oline guy we'd rather do that first. Bjorkland is a pretty strong kid.

Benches 300+ (I have actually witnessed this)
Squats more than he benches so I have heard. Needs to get stronger in the legs, but every freshman does.

Does anyone have any confirmation on who the new commitment actually is? Like others above have stated, it's most likely Trucilla, but you never know this time of year!

That's interesting.

I only assumed that because I thought he said that he needed to work on his stregth in the interview with GH. I'm probably wrong.

But yeah, the idea of spreading out the prospects is probably more important. However, I think a 6th year is ideal with most kids (if you can get it).

Not to be this way but I think pretty much everyone squats more than they bench.

The class is officially complete now that we have our WSR in tow RT @tricks99: @MVofDT WSR walking on at the U!

Not sure what this tweet means. Who is WSR? Tweet by MV last night.

White speed receiver.

If that is what WSR stands for, then I'm a little disheartened by MV using a mildly racist label for one of our recruits. I've enjoyed reading his comments both here and on his website and haven't noticed anything else like this. I hope he realizes what his WSR label is and stop using it and anything else like it.

It was on his Twitter which I follow, but I guess when you're as popular as MV is I'd use better words or abbreviations.

One of his buddies goes by the moniker WhiteSpeedReciever, pretty sure its an inside joke with them and not a "mildly racist label"

Whether it is an inside joke with them, it is still mildly racist. Perhaps you would say that it is taken out of context (the context being the locker room), but it is what it is.

I don't find it midly racist at all. People really need to move past petty BS like this.
