Shows how big the scoreboard is...

What is the thing on the side of the scoreboard in picture 12?

Best collection I have seen of photos so far. Many thanks!!

i love those tables in the DQ club room. Awesome.

thanks for the pics bro. that locker room is ridiculously huge.

Wow, stunning. Especially love the signs in the concourses!

idk how a recruit could turn down such a beautiful stadium! the M on upper deck visitors side looks fixed as well, great sight!

Thanks for sharing your pics. I was supposed to get down their a couple weekends back, but got pushed to this weekend. Can't wait!

To be honest, the photos really don't do the place justice. It looks so much better in person. Our group was walking around in disbelief pretty much the entire tour. An outstanding job all around by the U, HOK and Mortenson.

Some notes:
* The press box actually holds about the same number of media as the two press boxes at the Dome.
* Press box has three levels of seating with the media dining directly behind the media seating.
* The view from the President's Suite is unbelievable.
* The visiting AD's suite is on the opposite end of press box from the President's suite.
* All but six suites have been sold and three of those will likely be held for single-game sales.
* Above the lockers in the Gopher locker room will be a wraparound mural. The mural will be of notable alums who wore the numbers that correspond to the lockers below.
* There will be 8 (I think) glassed-in lockers of notable alumni in the Gopher locker room.
* As part of the Minnesota Tribal Nations Plaza, there will be a waterfall/fountain in the rock formation as you can see from the photos.
* Not sure what all the bars in the place will be pouring out of their taps. Coke products, anyone?
* The view from the loge boxes as outstanding, especially considering it corresponds with the view from the very last row of the upper deck.
* The U will be installing some real expensive HDTV monitors in the loge boxes and possibly other areas that can withstand the extreme temperature shifts we have here.
* We weren't allowed in the bowl of the stadium because they were laying the sand and rubber "dirt" on the field.
* They'll be holding a game on Aug. 22 that will be a dry run for the whole operation of the stadium.

Maybe Root Beer?

I was excited to see that view as I have the same view just on the other side of the field.

I can't wait for August 22nd!

Love everything, except the tin roof over the entrance. Looks like an afterthought.

Unlike some people, the different maroon and gold shades on the field versus the chairbacks doesn't really bother me. But, I am curious why the difference?

actually, as they have started laying the rubber pellets into the field the maroon on the field seems to be getting darker and looks closer to the maroon on the seats. you could see it in some of the field pics later in the album. that is my perception at least.

I think those entrances will be painted on the front with gate names so they won't look so bare.

They are also completely filled with lights on the bottom. They actually look pretty cool at night.

I want one of these!

Well done BTW, these pics are awesome. I'm hoping to take a tour next month.

Best seats?

Is it just me or do the upper deck seats seem to have a much better view of the field than the lower deck seats? Even the last row of the upper deck seem to be pretty low and great seats.

That was my take when I toured TCF last fall. The "worst seats in the house" are actually pretty darn good! I don't think the view in the lower deck is any worse then at the Dome (probably better b/c you are 15 ft closer to the field) but there is a difference. Its one reason why my group went with upper deck seats...we were row 9 at the Dome and wanted a change in viewing angles.

MNWolfman: I'll post some of them over lunch if I have time (unless someone beats me to it of course!) :)

I love the concourses. The beams and lights combined with those old all-america pictures give them sort of a retro feel. Anyone know what those little tables are for (the ones up against the beams)? I see them in all the concourse pictures.
