Been out of town on vacation a couple of weeks so this might have already been noted.

Went to McDonald's today...ordered a large drink...and lo and behold on the outside there was big Minnesota "block-M" on one side with the schedule on the other, not dissimilar to the large drink cups from the Dome and now TCF. Usually there's a Happy Meal ad or something on the outside, certainly not a UM Football promo.

Not sure how much this would cost the athletic department but seems like a good way to at least get Gophers football in front of groups not traditionally plugged in to radio, tv, or billboards as advertising sources.

Hard to know if this gets any new butts in the seats but this one gets a thumbs up from me to the Gophers Marketing Team.

Go Gophers! In Kill We Trust!

It certainly can't hurt.

A little off topic but similar when it comes to marketing...I saw today that students can buy season tickets through the book store and have the charges added to their student accounts. Is this new this year? Pretty much takes any excuse away from the students who "don't have enough money". Any way to get people into the bank for the games. I was also watching the vikings on Redzone last night and the commentator kept saying, "back to the Vikings, playing in the Gopher Hole."

Nope, not new this year. It's been around for at least 5-6 years now, and likely longer. I agree though, it's a nice system.

I had to do a double-take when I saw Micky D's-I thought, Mickey's Diner? I had an image of the salty, mature waitresses chanting the Rouser with their gravelly voices. That's a marketing campaign I'd love to see.
