The University of New Haven will join the NEC effective July 1, 2025. The Chargers will make the NEC a 10-team basketball conference, albeit temporarily. Saint Francis (Pa.) is moving down to Division III after the 2025-26 school year.
New Haven will be eligible for the postseason (NCAA & NIT) starting with the 2028-29 season.
Other 2025-26 conference/realignment college hoops changes are: Delaware (Coastal to Conference USA); Missouri State (MVC to Conference USA); Seattle (WAC to WCC); and UMass (Atlantic 10 to MAC).
