Which of the following scenarios would you prefer for a new defensive coordinator?:
 

I think it was Bill Parcells. He said he only hires coaches who want to be head coaches some day. If it is good enough for Bill Parcells, I guess it is good enough for me.
 

In my opinion there are really only two options. Who wants someone who is "serviceable or average"? Give me either someone who will leave in a year or two or find that young guy with potential. Obviously the second option is much more difficult and more risky, but for me it would be preferred to a guy who will leave in a year or two.
