Man I am bad today...the headline reads he "expects" to commit after the holiday, not that he has committed...SORRY!!!

He has size but his explosion looks poor.

I'm sure I'll get ripped for this but Kill's recruiting stinks of Glen Mason. We are beating out Western Michigan and Temple for players now. That is not good, any way you spin in.

Come on now....losing out to Western Michigan and Temple would be worse. Wait, I kinda see your point maybe. What if some of these guys didn't accept our offer and we actually ended up being forced to wait and actually got some guys to sign with us who actually had rival competing Big Ten offers? Naw

Yeah, but a lot of these kids would end up getting offers from other bcs schools if they waited around. His explosion does look poor, but I would imagine that is something that can be improved. He'd have to redshirt as most lineman do.
 


He looks solid in his film, while I agree he is probably not quick or explosive enough to play the DE spot, I do think he'd be fine at the DT position.

He is not trying to explode, he is playing too high. Actually he looks like he is playing DE for Cosgrove; he does not give up his blocker until the ball is handed off or the QB starts to leave the pocket. But if you watch him start to move when he goes in pursuit, he moves very well. If he were trying to penetrate, and were staying lower I think his explosiveness would be at least good.

He does move well for a big man, he had two interceptions so he has some athleticism. Just didn't notice him getting a good jump off the snap. I think he is a solid prospect.
 

I don't want to rip on this kid because I am a Gopher fan through and through, but I have a hard time believing he is a better football player than Harden. I wish this offer would have went his way. That said, Kill obviously knows way more than I do about this kind of stuff and I am probably a bit bias being a CDH homer.

He seems to get to the quarterback, running back, and makes interceptions. I'd say he has some skills we need. And a great name. Get low, get fast...explosiveness can be coached...really!
 

To be clear, Twitty has NOT committed to the Gophers yet. Rivals, Scout, and ESPN all have him as undecided; however, Zach Johnson tweeted (link courtesy of MV) that Twitty might commit to the Gophers after this weekend, but it looks like many of you think that he has already committed.

Well it's hard to blame people when rivals headline is "Commitment Coming to U".
 

Maybe we get this kid, maybe we don't. If he accepts the off good for us and good for him. As to getting Harde, maybe they get both. We have not had great luck getting the CDH kids we want, so I would not blame Kill for not waiting on him.

I think that has a lot to do with some of the Cretin guys being the more nationally recruited prospects. As far as nationally recruited prospects, we've had a hard time landing any of our local kids (McNeal, Mobley, WLA, Laurinitas, Murtha, etc.).

Harden is not going to be recruited like those kids were being recruited. I'd be shocked if Harden was offered and if it took him more than 48 hours to accept.

But like I said, i'm a CDH rube and I understand I know much less about recruiting and college football than Kill, so I am not blasting the idea of going after Twitty rather than HArden, it's just that I think Harden will be a very good player.
