I just received confirmation from my source, who told me the new coach will be in Minneapolis tomorrow, and will be announced as the new head coach at a press conference on Monday. I did not receive a name, but was told the same information that many others have reported, which was that the coach has coached in the last 48 hours.

It appears our long, regional nightmare will finally be over.

Truly new info. Some of us have heard this rumor about a month ago.

Sounds too similar to what's been rumored across the message boards and media for months now. I'll believe it when I see the new coach actually at the podium, and not before.
 



We most likely aren't getting Peterson, but would be interesting if we did what they did with their last hire (taking the Boise State HC) and they did what we did with our last hire (take Mike Shanahan's TE coach). Also interesting, neither of those last hires worked out too well.

2) A good journalist never reveals their source. Not even bad ones do.

Looks like somebody needs to calm down. Who in their right minds would give away who their source was? Mature and the U has been very secretive so far and anyone breaking the news early would then be cut off from inside info involving the U later on.

Need more than one source if I am to run with... "It's a done deal with..." Even on here, that would be all over... really do need to have it from 2, and maybe even 3 people.

Edsall is fine by me and all but this will truly show Maturi cannot think on his own. He has already stated he talked to the Notre Dame AD about our opening and it just so happens that Edsall was the "runner up" for that job. We have much better advantages than UCONN so if it's Edsall then welcome aboard coach.

But I think Doogie has better sources than most. And if it wasn't one that he trusted, he wouldn't have even dangled the carrot.

Hahaha...good one. Other than the fact that I don't follow Twitter, and that I have no need to use Twitter as a source, you're right on the mark.

Also, I never noticed you calling me out in any of the press notes I've passed along over the past four years here on this site, but that's ok. I'm sure you're all frustrated with mis-information at this point, so I'll give you a pass.

Some would consider me a turd, however. It's part of the business. As you were.
