Northwestern dropped completely from the poll? Not even a single vote. What's up with that?

Why is U-Dub ranked?

The fact that Washington is still in the rankings indicates just how weak things are from about #20 on down. U-Dub beat Texas A&M, and that's about it. Just can't see how a 3-loss team can lose to Oregon at home & still be ranked the following week.

If I was a pollster I'd take a flyer on ranking William & Mary. Bill & Mary has won @ Maryland and @ Wake Forest, and also has solid quality wins over Richmond and VCU.

For the record, I don't think the Gophers deserve to be ranked and should be nowhere near the top 25 based on who they've beaten (so far just Butler). That changes drastically if they win two this week.

I would have hoped to have a lot more then 3 votes after winning two conference games. Frankly, there's no excuse for teams like OSU and Florida being that far ahead of us. OSU got pasted twice this week and they're still getting that many votes? Florida lost recently in home or quasi home games to Richmond and South Alabama and they're ahead of us as well? I think too many of the AP voters set thier initial 25 and only move teams when it's painfully obvious they must do so. There's really no excuse for Washington to be ranked as SS points out.

I think some of the voters don't keep track from week to week who won and who lost.

Ding, ding, ding.

Fortunately, this makes no difference one way or another. In basketball they have a tournament to decide things. Unlike the idiocy of college football bowl games. YAAAAAWWWNNNNN.

Minnesota was still receiving votes two weeks after their 3 game losing streak.

It can make a difference in who actually gets into the dance but your right it has little impact.

I was just thinking the same thing GJ. I consider the poll to just be for fun. I can't imagine being a fan of college football relying on that stupid poll. It really turns me off on college football, not that I wouldn't jump on the bandwagon if we got better!
