Hi everyone, my name is Pete Arbogast, I am the radio play by play voice ofthe USC Trojans, and very much looking forward to my first visit to your area and new stadium for the weekend call of the game.
I have been amassing a huge collection of USC football programs dating back to the earliest days that we can find (1909 so far) but am missing a few programs from various years. one of those is the USC at Minnesota game from October 29, 1955 played in what I understand was a pretty good snow storm. The Giophers won it that day 25-19--perahps the weather is why there aren't more of this game program around. At any rate, I put them all in nice plastic sheets and binders and they are on display for all to see at the Newport Beach Sports Museum on Fashion Island in Newpot Beach, CA....a museum that has an unbelievable collection of sports memorabilia and is FREE to the public, so if any of you are coming to the game next year on September 3, you ought to make it a must for your to do list.
The museum caters to families and kids and sports fans to be sure....open 6 days a week morning till 5 pm. Athletes come and speak there....it's really cool.
If anyone has this game program, and wants to donate it to the collection rather than have it sit in a box at your house or in storage, I can pick it up from you either at the game, or you could mail it to me, or leave it at our team hotel (Raddison Plaza Minneapolis--we arrive Thursday late night-35 south 7th street)
I have a very limited purchasing budget, and could give you a few bucks for it if you need, but...
