Nebraska Trophy Game???

I don't see anything about a trophy in the promotions section, or anywhere else that I can find. And I would hope that's because there isn't one...the last thing we need is another new imaginary rivalry.
 


Can we trade it for that stupd trophy we have with Penn State?
 

Hmm.. That's interesting. I just asked the folks over at HuskerMax about it to see if they knew anything about it. I'm ok with a trophy game against them as long as it's a real rivalry and not a forced one a la PSU.
 


I'm ok with it since we have such a long history with them. I just won't support anything if it's "Brought to you by Minnesota Corn Growers" or whatever. I'd prefer a rusty hammer they found in the trash as long as it has some significance behind it....
 

It's called "Huck the Fuskers," and has Huck Finn floating a Minnesota-shaped raft down the Missouri River. Classic.
 


Ok, seriously now.. Anyone in the media or close to the program know about this? Now I REALLY can't wait for Saturday to see what the in-game promotion actually is now..
 



I'm ok with it, but would rather they wait until we are competitive with them. They have won 14 straight over us.
 

I don't get this obsession in the big ten with making every game a trophy game. Half our games every year will be trophy games ever year and if we play PSU we'll have 5 trophy games. Just stupid. No one cares about the last one we added and even fewer will if we add one with Nebraska.

I agree, what makes a games special if they are all trophy games. I would be ok with just the Pig, Jug and Axe.

Minnesota has more trophy games than almost anybody. 3 to 4 of our 8 BIG games every year are trophy games. That's too many. We don't need anymore especially when we are not a competitive football program. We have lost 9 straight times to the CornFisters. ( I know I know we are 29 20 and 1 or something like that against them all time). But we seriously don't need another trophy game. At least not now. JMO
