Nebraska may get PF Leslee Smith back this season

That's crazy. He tore his ACL in July. Even Adrian Peterson needed 9 months to get back (and then some, to get fully into it). Mbakwe took a long while to get his explosiveness back too, even though he came back.

A healthy Smith sure would make a difference for Nebraska, but I don't know how a guy 6 months removed from ACL surgery (his second) could play at the level he was before. Seems more likely to be ineffective or reinjure it if he tries to come back in January.

For the record, we play at Nebraska January 20 (our only game against them), making this story even more relevant.

When I read that he's not eligible for a 6th year, it makes more sense. It's Smith's last go-around, he's not a NBA prospect, his team has high expectations. ... this is probably it for his basketball career, so I'm sure he'll want to give it a final shot, even if not anywhere close to 100%.

For the record we play @ Nebraska January 20, 2015 and @ The Barn January 31, 2015.
