Per Oliver:

This week, the Nebraska football coaches have talked a lot about how they are going to find playing time and production from a receiver room that suddenly doesn’t have a ton of experience. Billy Kemp IV is one veteran presence on the team. Marcus Washington is another, but it’s not clear how much or how hard he’s going to be able to practice and the game is just 16 days away.

It’s the lack of true veterans on the Nebraska football team that has led to two unexpected names to carry more weight recently. That’s why Alex Bullock and Ty Hahn are suddenly being talked about a bit more.

The two receivers are far from grizzled vets. They’re both sophomores who have appeared in a combined five games. Neither has a catch. Both saw action on special teams. And both are being talked about quite often as seeing the field quite against Minnesota.

Go Gophers!!

Containing their QB's running out of pass drop backs is probably a pretty big practice emphasis for the Gophers.

The headline “unexpected playing time” is almost never good to see before the season even starts. I’ve seen similar headlines before for other teams and it’s never ended well.

I expect Rossi has this team ready to play against whoever lines up.

One could surmise that Rossi and Leonhard both made their reputations as defensive gurus because their teams played in the offensively challenged West and their own teams played obsessive time control offenses.
Now NE and particuary WI have newoffensive schemes, IA seems to have a real QB and has to score an average of 25 points a game, and MN plays tis year against a gifted QB at NC and offensive powers in OSU and MI..
This season coud be a revalation.

With this game being near a sellout already, I’m assuming many of the ticket buyers are from the corn. It is a perfect storm. Their beloved Huskers are undefeated, it is the start of the college football season, new coach that they believe in, and an opportunity to spend a holiday weekend in the city and at the MOA.
