Seriously, talk about nice people. Sure there are random dirt bags that I'm sure will pop up. But these people just love their team and don't need to get obnoxious about it. Makes me want to go to Lincoln, which I've heard is a great experience.

For the record, I should clarify - they love their team but they don't love their QB or their coach. :)

They are a class act. I was at the Wisconsin game at the dome when we lost it at the end because our punter failed to take a safety after he dropped the ball. There were several Wisconsin fans near us who didn't realize what had happened because they were so drunk that some of them were passed out.

The 4 Nebraska fans who sat in front of me all shook my hand before they left with a minute remaining. They congratulated us on the victory and said that we deserved it. Like everyone else says, they are great fans. I hate seeing the stadium with so much red, but I'll take their red.

Although Cornhuskers fans were more than a bit patronizing during their 1980s visits when the team was an elite power, I found them to be a friendly and gracious bunch both today in defeat and 2011 in a big win. It never got petty in the stands and what had to be a very upsetting loss was taken in style. Husker fans also didn't get too bad after the 2011 win. The differences between Nebraska fans and Iowa or Wisconsin fans are night and day. I give them a lot of credit and respect.

They were fine. I got a chuckle as we were going past Stub and Herb's and overheard one Husker fan say: "This was supposed to be a gimmie."

I went to the 2010 game in Lincoln against Texas and even after the loss those fans were cool to all the Longhorn guys...good fans as a whole...

The last part is spot on. Neb. fans I sat by said they hate Pelini and called him 'low-class' and a 'dirt bag'. Their words, not mine.

They didn't have much nice to say about Martinez either.

Overall, yes, great group of nice respecting fans, win or lose.

They are a class act. I went to Lincoln last year and knowing what I know now, it should be on every sports fan's bucket list.

Go Gophers!

We had 3 sitting next to us. The guy sitting next to my wife was a great guy. One sitting a couple of rows back with his Gopher wife (Boy did HE ever marry over his head!), and three who have been going to games all season wearing Gopher gear who showed-up in Nebraska stuff today. All but two were really decent people. Guy sitting on the aisle buy us was a real "peach", pissed that people wanted to go by, always scowling but otherwise dead silent throughout the game.

The wife of the "great guy" next to us wasn't so great. Again, quite upset from the first 7minutes or so on. Understandable, but she kept telling her husband to quit talking "to those GOPHER fans." Very nice! :)

So overall, pretty good people. Now let's beat them a few more times and see where it takes us!

Went to the Nebraska/Wyoming game in Lincoln this year. Great stadium, great experience, great fans.

Last year we were treated with great respect. This year I couldn't believe the exodus with 2 minutes left. I asked, " where are you going?". The answer from the 60 something couple was a$$hole. Little do they know what we've experienced. It sure was nice to not hear go big red. Team dominated, our fans represented well, and they left quietly.

Very good fans. Good experience at the game a couple years ago at TCF. Their coach does seem very unlikeable. I couldn't believe Martinez was waving the crowd to get louder on their second to last series. That worked out well.

I love the Husker faithful. In a plutonic way, of course.. but seriously, great people. I saw patches of Nebby fans leave in the final minutes and each patch shook the hands of many Gopher fans on their way out.

Classy is an understatement.

You throw out a dig and are surprised when you get something back in return?

The thing with Nebraska fans is that they are football fans. They root hard for their team, loudly if things are going well, but on the whole they're pretty darn classy. Contrast that with Iowa and Wisconsin fans where game day seems like nothing more than an excuse to get absolutely hammered. I'll take Nebraska fans any day of the week. We had great experiences with the fans around us in 2011 and this year.

Today was great. Over half the stadium was red...and quiet. Awesome!

The guys I talked to had nice things to say about us. One said he wasn't surprised that we could win. I suggested perhaps their team/qb might be a little rusty after two weeks? He said our O line dominated and pushed them around. The other said their D was suspect and hasn't been good in a while, but both agreed there was no doubt who was the better team today. They said this is a good win for Kill and will help us in the Big Ten and that they were happy for us.

Agree about the Husker fans. I remember thinking that two years ago when they were here, too. Unfortunately some of our Gopher fans in the line for the state fair buses weren't so classy. Some of the younger Gopher fans were really giving the Husker fans a rough time while waiting for the bus. Hopefully they'll learn.

Good fans. Wife and I had a great time with them at the Commons. Worst fans in college football according to Husker fans? Becky. Go figure. Go to Madison if you want to get crap thrown at you, pissed on, and yes, a guy wipping out his unit. All tales from Husker fans.

Husker fans were great hosts when we went to Lincoln last year - and as Ruppert noted, they consider WI fans the worst. We have 5 of us headed to Lincoln in January to watch or beloved Gopher BBall team and also to check out the new Pinnacle Bank Arena. I can't wait!

Over half the stadium was red? A little hyperbole, don't you think? Sure, there were a lot of Nebraska fans but no where near half. That would mean less than 25k Gopher fans...I don't think so.

I was noting this to the other folks I was at the game with. The Husker fans were class, especially compared to the typically boorish Iowa fans from the last home game. They weren't trying to make scenes, or start fights, they were good losers, and weren't unbearable when the game was going their way in the beginning. They were self-deprecating after the game too. I'd heard good things about them before, and I'm pleased to find out that it was correct. Kudos to the Husker fans.

Taking a game in Lincoln when they are good is amazing. Atmosphere is awesome and I hope someday it gets built up to that level here. Nebraska folks have always been first class to me.

I would have piped up. We are NOT Badger or Iowa fans, there's ZERO reason to be *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ty to opposing fans (well.... that aren't Becky/Iowee fans), but ESPECIALLY to the Husker faithful.

They heard about it. Someone beat me to it. They got the "the only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner" lecture from a guy in his 70's. Hopefully they took it to heart and learned something.

Husker fans are the epitome of "Win with class, lose with dignity".
