It's anyone's guess how the net rankings will be used: here's the first release. I think it's safe to assume that a 255 is not good.

I’ve been saying bottom 3 for a while, but this ranking has them clearly at the bottom. Was this calculated before or after the victory over Wisconsin?
 


Lets be fair here, this team has had more then 5 covid cases, maybe closer to 8 or 9 and had them at the most critical part of the season - the beginning and for a young team that didnt get any real non conf action to gain confidence that was going to be tough. Then throw in Scalia out 5 weeks with injury, back healthly at WI for a half and another set back. I get it, it is what it is #255.
Wisconsin win was critical for confidence and wins, Iowa will be tough, but again we might not have a starter.

It shouldn't be a surprise MN is this low, The NET is an efficiency metric and obviously we have been really bad. If they played 4 or 5 instead of 2 nonconference games against lower level teams like the teams ahead of them did our off and def efficiency would be quite a bit better. The NET will tell the story at the end season, right now its pretty meaningless.
