NBADraft.net: Rodney #35, Trevor #42; Andre #10 in 2014 draft, Austin #30 in 2014

Glad to see Austin get some love. Am not one who pretends to know anything about how college guys will translate to the NBA, but I think Austin has a chance to spend some time in the league. Does a little bit of everything, has the bloodlines, and still has a lot of room to grow.

Man I hope Trevor doesn't go to the Lakers. I don't want to hate the team Trevor plays for. Hopefully the Wolves draft Rodney or Trevor.

+1 . I think Rodney would sure fit in well with the clippers playing style!

And it worked quite well for others.

Rick Barry (My 3 Sons), Mike Bibby (Henry Bibby), Kobe Bryant (Jellybean Bryant), Stephen Curry (Dell Curry), Mike Dunleavy Jr. (Mike Dunleavy), Jalen Rose (Jimmy Walker), Luke Walton (Bill Walton). .. to name a few. I'm sure there are some others I've forgotten.

Klay Thompson, Kevin Love, Austin Rivers off the top of my head...

I like how when you click on Rodney William's profile, it still has his high school highlights.

Worked real well for the Jordan boys.

But not quite as well as it did for. ...

This site moves guys around like a feather in a wind tunnel, and their latest has Andre leaving after his junior year and getting drafted in the lottery at #10

correct. i checked early in the season and andre was in the low 30's. austin has moved up a couple of spots since then as well.

Go Gophers!!

I think Andre will be here all four years... he is serious about education, much more so than the average D1 player as far as I can tell and I think he will stay to get his degree before moving on to the next level...

With the courses these guys take before they enroll and then all the summer classes they take, graduating in three years is not that difficult for the kids that have the smarts & the interest to get their degree. Certainly sounds like Andre is in that mold. I hope he stays all four years, too, but if he's good enough to test the waters after 3 years, I'll be glad we had him for those 3.

+1

Lets hope a healthier MBakwe moves up the list as the year progresses. Also perhaps a top finish in the big ten and a nice run in the tourney will help propel both Trevor and Rodney into the first round.

Think of the thousands of former NBA players with sons we have never heard of.

What are Elliot's odds of getting to the NBA one day?

Austin Hollins is propably the best nba prospect on team. He has protypical size and length, athletic, fairly quick, and can shoot. Negatives, he is physically weak and with narrow shoulders and may never gain required strength and is not creative offensively lacking advanced ball handling skils. More of a role playing defensive player spot shooter. Andre is getting all the hype, but he is not as good a prospect. He really is an undersized 2 guard playing point and would be considered a combo in the nba.He lacks advanced ball handling skills and nba level point guard quickness and awareness. Defensively, he would have a hard time guarding 1 and 2's in the nba.

I agree with the assessment of the Hollins' NBA skills - right now. But we all know the NBA drafts on potential (Ndudi Ebi anyone)? The fact that Andre is VERY quickly growing into the PG role, improving his awareness / handles at a rapid rate, in only his 2nd year at the position is huge. I think Andre could play / defend the point in the League if he keeps honing his skills over the next 2.5 years

I personally, think Andre has the best chance to be a big time player in the NBA. By that, I mean a regular starter.

Austin has a chance to be that Bruce Bowen type with better handles. I think he could be a great role player for teams.

Andre Hollins Draft Stock

I know this is almost dumb to talk about, but I just thought I would share this.

http://www.nbadraft.net/2014mock_draft

Website has Andre Hollins as a lottery pick in 2014, Austin in the 2nd round. To me, Andre doesn't seem like that high of a pick, just because he doesn't have great size for an NBA point guard. He may not be drafted in 2014 anyway (hopefully!). It must have been a while since the Gophers last had a lottery pick.

Dre's size is just fine for an NBA point guard, what he needs to improve are ball handling and playmaking...

That having been said, I wouldn't put any stock into what nbadraft.net says

If that site has proved anything, it is that they are consistently wrong.

The necessity for weekly updates proves what that site is worth.

They had Rodney as the number two overall pick after about three games in his freshman year.
