per Sandell:
Despite the sour ending, it's hard to deny that the Gophers are a program on the rise. Minnesota will have to deal with more key departures in the offseason than it has in past years under Kill, with 10 starters (five offense, five defense) set to graduate and another, Maxx Williams, likely to leave early for the NFL. While there are still obvious holes, Kill has developed the depth throughout his roster to keep the Gophers a threat in the Big Ten next season.
It was a deflated crew that filed out of the Minnesota locker room at the Citrus Bowl, but for some players, their thoughts were already shifting to next season.
"I can say that we're hungry already," cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun said. "Some of the young guys you can see that hunger already. And they're ready to go, talking about going home and getting into the weight room."
