Myron tweet:

"I've been informed that Arkansas boosters want Tubby. No surprise there."

Go Gophers!!

I've just been informed that Tubby will not be coaching at Arkansas. No surprise there.

I was jacked about GOPHER bball 2-3 years ago when TUBBY came. but what has he done besides regress on the court and his record?

kentucky's pitino recruits won tubby a natl championship..... correct??

im pissed that U of M gopher bball has suffered and cant even make the freakin NIT.

Go ahead tubby, arkansas needs you.

Tubby is obviously leaving to be on Kentucky's doorstep. Oh wait...

I've been informed that Podunk Daily News wants Myron to write a cooking column.

Its no surprise he turned up on a booster list--don't know why people knock myron for reporting this because it's definitely true. Anytime there is an open job, and boosters attempt to create a list of candidates, accept that Tubby likely will be on it. The reasons are clear as can be--He has a big name, has had past success, and is perceived by the national media as potentially willing to change jobs and not being overly happy in Minnesota. Not saying any of this is true, but that is what a booster sees.

Either way, Tubby is definitely not at the top of Arkansas' list--that goes to Mike Anderson. It'll be interesting what he decides to do. Bring back the old 40 minutes of hell to Arkansas, or keep it running at Mizzou.

And if Arkansas and Wal-Mart heir #1 get Mike Anderson, then Wal-mart heir #2 and Mizzou will have Tubby on their list. Either way, a 60-year old coach who costs $2 million isn't at the top of any lists north of NC State and I don't think Tubby has enough juice left to do another rebuild.

I've been informed that Duke boosters, as well as North Carolina boosters, are looking to fire Coach K and Roy Williams and replace him with Tubby. Tubby is #1 on their list.....we sure are in trouble now!

I know I've forgotten the end of Monson, but it doesn't exactly feel like Tubby has finished his current rebuild.

Extension, or "pause" which Maturi is great at.

Tuby's agent would probably put strong feeler's out for Ark. It is a shake the dice situation . If I'm Maturi how can I even think about an extension if you can't even make the NIT or CBI.

I've been pretty disappointed with Tubby. At this point things should be looking up, not down. Maybe it would be better if he went on his way.

Have not heard Tubby's name brought up at all down here.

Everyone is saying Mike Anderson which doesn't make a lot of us happy.

How does that not make you happy? Mike Anderson is one of the most underrated coaches in America and I have felt all along the U made a huge mistake by not trying to get him from UAB after Monson.

Just heard Myron is hosting the PA show on KFAN (home of Gopher Football) tomorrow from 9 to 12.

In other news, the Carleton College basketball team would be interested in bringing in Tubby Smith after legend Guy Kalland finally retires. Influential boosters say they'd also be willing to accept Bill Self and Tom Izzo as potential replacements.

Always been a Tubby supporter and (almost) always will be, but why in the world would they want him after seeing this season unfold?

Sure, we lost both of our PG's. That's no excuse for the incredible lackluster effort his remaining players gave in the last 11 games. That's solely Tubby's fault, lack of energy and motivation. Sure seems like he and the team packed it in after we lost Al and Duhvo

I keep reading comments like these and I just don't agree. This team's problem was not effort at all IMO. They played hard almost to the bitter end. I will give you that after about the 6th or 7th soul crushing loss, they did start to hang their heads in games as soon as anything went wrong in games, and that was disappointing, but not surprising. For the most part I thought they played hard throughout this poor stretch. They just plain didn't execute at all when they needed to most, and I just don't think effort was the problem.

When you get embarrassed by Northwestern.

Like I said, there was some head hanging, no doubt. Especially in that final game, you could tell this team was spent emotionally, they couldn't respond, part of the reason I wasn't that upset they didn't get an NIT game. My only point was, effort is not why they blew all those leads. Lack of execution was. But up until late in this streak, I didn't get any lack of effort vibes from this team at all. Okay, except maybe the 1st 10 minutes @ IU...

I also agree. You can't equate losing with a lack of effort.

+1,000,000

Who wasn't giving effort? No matter how hard Hoff tries he's not going to blow by BT defenders. Effort won't make jumpers by Mav, Chip, Austin, or Rodney magically fall. The harder Colt tries it just seems the more fouls he picks up. Is anyone really going to suggest Trevor wasn't giving max effort?

Not giving effort is just a blanket excuse for people who don't have the understanding of the game to realize what the real problem was on this years team - a lack of talent combined with a horrible mix of what talent they did have.

TY. I needed that.
