1. Duke - May not finish #1 but they certainly deserve to be #1 heading into the year given what they return and what's coming into the program
2. Michigan St - Experienced guards to go along with their always trusty defense and rebounding lands them at #2. Izzo is a heck of a coach.
3. Kansas State - Pullen plus Kelly and an up-and-comer in Wally Judge makes them the favs in the Big 12 and a NC contender
4. Ohio St - I loved Turner but I think Buford, Lighty, and Sullinger will be a dynamic trio this year.
5. Villanova - I like them more without Reynolds. The Corey's plus nice depth upfront makes them my favorites to win the Big East
6. Kansas - Only if Selby is eligible. If yes, top 10, if not, drop them down at least 10 spots. They're thin at guard without him.
7. Pitt - Love Dixon and I think his squad will contend for the Big East title but they're not the 4th best team in the country according to the coaches' poll
8. Florida - They're not as talented as Kentucky's rotation but it's not that big of a gap. They win the SEC because of talent + experience. Could easily see them in the Final 4
9. Illinois - Underachieving squad last year returns almost everyone plus has a good freshman class coming in. I'm higher on them than most because I think Davis will become a star this year
10. Syracuse - Jackson, Joseph, and Melo will make up the best front court in college basketball this year.

***If Enes Kanter is eligible, which is a total unknown at this point, I'd probably have Kentucky replace Syracuse at #10.

What say you?

Illinois didn't even make the tournament with their players last year. How can you put an nit team in the preseason top 10? Purdue will crush illinois even without Robbie Hummel. And where's the love for UNC?

I'd put Purdue in at nine then the rest of this looks good. But who has any idea with preseason polls anyway??

Please be careful, or lakesbison will be here soon to claim that NDSU should have been listed.

Duke #1.....Gee what a surprise.

I think MSU is the most overrated team in the Big Ten, K-State the most overrated team in the Big 12, and Villanova perhaps the most overrated team in the Big East - last year in the NCAA tourney when freshmen are supposedly sophomores, the touted Nova class didn't step up like they should have. Kentucky will only be good if they have Enes Kanter eligible - what have we heard from the NCAA on him? Crickets!

I think Illinois should be rated higher than UNC. UNC doesn't return very many players from last season's team and it's always hard when you're nearly starting over. I think they probably are the most overrated team in the ACC. Illinois probably should be rated in the top-10 - they came on at the end of last year (were a very tough out in the Big Ten tourney and seemed to have put it together at the end similar to how Wisky put it together at the end of the prior season). WVU has no place in the preseason top-10, and I wouldn't put them in a preseason top-25, either since they have so many question marks.

They may return their whole team, but let's not forget that they weren't a very good team last year. I realize they have a good class coming in but it's not THAT good.

I think Ohio State is overated. They were not a very good team without Turner last year. Who plays the point. How do they run their offense. Unless they find someone to fill the PG role I think they will struggle.
