I think my biggest problem with Tim Brewster is that I have absolutely zero confidence in him at all. He can say what he wants, or recruit all he wants, but at the end of the day I just do not have any confidence that he will come up with a game plan to win and this includes next week against Northern Illinois. We SHOULD win this game but it would not surprise me in the least if we lose this one, too. I wasn't stunned like many were when we lost to South Dakota either. I didn't expect it, but I shrugged my shoulders afterwards and said, "Well that ought to give Maturi something to think about."

With Mason, I DID have confidence - at least in his offense. I knew that year in and year out we would be pretty good at running the football, I liked his offense and this was our identity. This team has NO identity on either offense or defense unless you want to talk about a negative one.

I look for Maturi to seek out a guy who knows how to coach. He won't go with another Tim Brewster guy who talks a great game but has never coached in college before. There ARE good guys who have never been a head coach in college that come in and are successful, such as Pat Fitzgerald, but we do not seem to find those guys. I would just love to find a guy who can outsmart other coaches, be able to make positive adjustments and build an identity on both offense and defense but for the life of me I do not know if we will ever be able to find that guy!!!

P.S. -- I agree with Jim Souhan that we would have been no better off with Lane Kiffin!!!

If we'd hired Kiffin instead of Brewster, we'd be the ones despising him for abandoning us to take the USC job instead of Tennessee fans.

We didn't hire Kiffin though, we hired a used car salesman...
