He will never have great recruiting classes at NU, but his kids are intelligent and are always well-prepared. It hurts watching a good Qb like Kafka surgically move the ball down the field on Wisky. Maybe someday I can say that about our QB.
 

Difference is they're well coached...

Our qb is surgical, too. He's cutting the heart out of true Gopher fans, the ones with passion who aren't taken in by Brew BS

Adam Weber is 7th in passing yards and 10 in passer rating.

I thought Fitzgerald deserved to win Big Ten Coach of the year last year, but Paterno edged him out.
I certainly think he deserves to get consideration for it this year as well. For my money he is the best
coach in the Big Ten because he does more with less than anyone else. This is the guy Notre Dame should
go after when they fire Weiss.

Sure, the Gophers beat the Wildcats this year, but if you notice, since that game Northwestern has grown and
gotten better and the Gophers have gotten much worse. What do you think the score would have been like if we
had played the Cats today, especially with an offense that can't move the ball on anyone?? Well coached teams
get better as the season goes on, poorly coached teams get worse unless there are extenuating circumstances
such as injuries.

Also, his teams play disciplined ball and they are a smart team. They don't beat themselves with a lot of stupid
mistakes and penalties. Make no mistake, Northwestern made an extremely good choice when they hired him
as their coach and Minnesota will probably be looking for a coach after next season again.

So you're saying Fitzgerald isn't a good coach, he just has a better quarterback?
 

Coach Fitz

Coach Fitz has three wins against Iowa, two against Michigan, and one against Wisconsin. We can't put too much pressure on Brewster and expect too much from him.

one has a qb and the other doesnt

doesnt mean one is that much better a coach

two years ago everyone in minnesota was pissing and moaning about the packers hiring maccarthy and we are stuck with chilly.......now chilly has the qb mccarthy used to have and chilly can now coach and mccarthy cant

the university needs a qb......thats easier said than done though
 




Fitz must go

Based on the loathing of Brewster on this site and thread, it's obvious he is the worst coach ever, and Weber may be the worst QB. It must be the height of incompetance for Fitz to have lost to Brewster and Weber this year in Evanston no less! Funny too, because both Fitz and Dantonio at MSU after their respective losses to the Gophers and Brew mentioned how a lot of it was on the coaching and they were out-coached in those games.
 

Let me start my saying I think Fitzgerald is a great coach, but he's got a lot of very good seniors this year in Kafka, Wooten, Markhausen, and others. Not saying he won't coach up the other kids, but he had some real impact guys this season. But again, it's pretty clear Fitzgerald can coach.
