Per ESPN and sportsline. It was also reported yesterday that Vandy is making a serious run at Malzahn. Looks like the other schools with openings are more than content to go the coordinator route. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5910011

They are both premium programs, but I'd rather be at Texas. You're always going to be top dog in the best football state in the country. FSU and Miami have both taken their turn at the top of the heap in Florida.

True. Especially since he was explicitly named the heir apparent after Brown retires. Makes you wonder if there wasn't some behind-the-scenes discontent in the ranks after the 5-7 2010 campaign.

Florida is a great job though and who's to say Muschamp would have been wanted when Brown retires (or in the slim chance he's fired). They had a very poor year by Texas standards this year, one more of those and the fanbase may want nothing to do with Muschamp when it's his time to take over.

I think it's a no brainer for Muschamp to take the job. I am very surprised he got the job over a Dan Mullen or a strong offer to someone like Chris Petersen.

I'm not a big Colin Cowherd guy, but I happened to be listening on Thursday when he said his source had told him who would get the Florida job and the only "hint" he could give was the acronym "S.T.A.B." I'm guessing his source was dead wrong on this one.

But why not leach? Why not Mullin? Effin fire that that guy!

Stoops
Takes
After
Bowl

is what most were thinking.

Guess now it's

Screw
Texas
And
Brown

One thing to remember here is that Muschamp lived in Gainsville, FL for 10 years growing up and watched the Gators and SEC. That along with the fact that Texas had a bad year and no timetable was set up for him to take over was set up, this was the perfect situation for Will.

I definitely didn't expect it, but good for him. I think it's a great hire.

I love their passion. That dwarfs what happened here on Sunday night. Coach Kill looks better every day.

Apparently, Mullen didn't make a lot of friends at Florida and was not a serious candidate. They did think they could get Petersen, but I guess everyone does!
