MSU-Georgetown part of college/NBA tripleheader @ MSG on Feb. 1, per Andy Katz

Pretty cool triple header. Isn't Michigan State, the Hoyas opponent, the school with the innovative AD? The aircraft carrier game, the hockey game on the football field? Gosh, Seoul also for the Hoyas? (The Hoyas sure struck gold when they hired Thompson, the father, in the 70's. Just amazes me and also helps keep my hope alive with the Gophers.)

I think the idea was to connect it with Super Bowl weekend in New York.

Yeah I guess I mean from the team's perspective. Those days off during the grind of the conference schedule are usually pretty nice. I'm just a little surprised both teams agreed to it, that's all.

Understood.

Yep, certainly not a breather from the conference meat-grinder for either squad. If I had a bye in my conference schedule, that's the time where/when I'd wanna' schedule a New Orleans or a Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Marquette & St. John's are playing (conference game!) prior to the MSU / Georgetown game...then MU's Dwyane Wade & Miami vs. the Knicks.

I'd be interested in going, but would have to imagine the hotel situation could be ridiculous on the eve of the Super Bowl. Will still look into it though. Plus, could catch the Vikings the following day.

It took me a few seconds.......clever.
