Northwestern needs to win one of its next two games to be bowl eligible. If they lose to the Gophers, they need to beat Michigan State to get to six wins. Neither the Gophers defense nor Northwestern's defense is stellar, The Gophers rank #95 in yards per game with 430.9 yards per game and 46 TD. Northwestern ranks #83 in yards per game with 411.8 yards per game and 37 TDs.

On offense, Northwestern ranks #27 in yards per game, with 445.2 yards per game, and 42 TD. The Gophers rank #111 with 299.8 yards per game, and 23 TD.

The Gophers won't be up against a top defense, hopefully, the Gophers can click this weekend and get the offense to work. Every minute we can keep the ball out of Northwestern's hands is key.

Northwestern is dynamite on offense, but I don't see them as being that much better physically than we are. Persa and Colter are both really good and we will have to step it up on defense to give their punter some work.

Their defense is pretty bad and if we don't turn the ball over, I think we can give them a game. Could be a "who has the ball last" kind of thing.

Unless the Gophers offense/Gray play their best game, I can't see us staying within 20 of them. It won't surprise me to see the NU offense put up 45+. Its difficult to imagine the Gophers matching that. My confidence level is low regarding the Gophers D ability to slow down the Cats.

Mrs. Bayfield and I plan on being there for the first time since the late 80's. Long overdue.

Maybe the guys will put it all together but at this time, I guess something like NU 45-MN 24.

Bayfield:

Have a good, safe trip and I hope you and your lovely bride bring home a W for the Gophers. The trip to NU is my favorite trip in Big Ten Country. Win or lose, it's a nice, relaxing place to watch a footballgame. Lots of times the games are pretty competetive and if things should happen to bounce right...you just never know!

I'm not making the trip this year, but, look forward to some more trips to Evanston in the future. Have fun and Good luck to our Gophers!

It is almost like a high school setting. I've been there when you had under 20,000 people attending.

Thanks Wren. November is our travel time. We are making plans to go to Lincoln next year.

Did you park in the lots east of the stadium? It's been a long time ago and I can't recall where we parked.

I don't necessarily like this matchup for our defense. I could definitely see upper 30s given up at least. The key will be getting that run game going, cause if we can, then I think we can win this one. Could be a shootout type game a little bit.

Bayfield,

Actually, my wife has a very good friend who doesn't live so far away from the stadium and we usually park there and walk. One time when I made the drive without my wife and family, I parked in a lot that was a fund-raiser for some church group. It has also been a few years since I made the trip.

I think that if you arrive plenty early, you very well may be able to get a spot somewhere on campus to park. I recall a number of small lots where they were selling parking on campus. I think the best bet would be to get there early though.

Perhaps some folks who have been there within the past few years might chime in to give you their more recent and "updated" observations on Game Day Parking on the beautiful Northwestern Campus!
