Agreed, this program is way ahead of where it was 3 years ago IMO. Guessing this extension will line up with Bob's retirement, at which time the program should be firing on all cylinders and ready for someone to keep it rolling (Potulny?).

Gophers men's hockey coach Bob Motzko will receive a three-year contract extension and a raise to $660,000 per year under terms of a new agreement announced Thursday.

The new deal runs through the 2025-26 hockey season and is pending Board of Regents approval. Motzko's Gophers, who fell one game short of the Frozen Four last spring, open a new season Saturday against Alaska.

He brought SCSU to prominence....and was a home run hiring for the U. He'll bring the Gophers at least one title.

Hope his family is doing alright. Heartbreaking stuff to overcome in the last few months.
