A thought popped into my head while watching the NBA Draft last night:

Vanderbilt had 3 guys selected (Ezeli, Jenkins, Taylor) but didn't even make it to the Sweet 16.

Washington had 2 first round picks in its backcourt and couldn't make the tournament in a conference that only had 1 other first round pick and was just terrible all year

U-Dub and Vandy both are worthy candidates, but still leaning toward the 'Dores because the 3 guys were a big (Ezeli), a wing that could defend and shoot (Taylor, 42% from 3) and a sniper guard (Jenkins, 44% from 3).

Vanderbilt's season wasn't in line with expectations, but it wasn't all that bad. Remember that Ezeli was hurt last year and, in addition to missing many games, didn't have a strong senior season. Not going to get too hung up on a loss in round of 32 because it's one game.

They puked on themselves early on a couple of times (Cleveland St, Indiana St), but a lot of their losses don't look all that bad (vs then #11 Xavier in OT, at then #6 Louisville in OT, then #15 Miss St in OT, @ then #11 Florida, Kentucky twice) and they had a number of very good wins (Kentucky/Marquette/Florida/Bama...).

Pittsburgh... now that was an underachieving team.
