Not the comeback vs Fresno St
Not the catch by Autman Bell
Not the interception by Winfield vs FSU
Not the win over Penn St
None of the great catches...

It was the game winning drive vs Georgia Southern. Absolutely incredible.

3rd and 29 from your own 6 yard line with 3 minutes and change left.

Convert a 4th and 8.

Convert a 1st and 20.

End up going 96 yards and score with 13 seconds left after a blocked FG TD and a sack fumble TD against you in the previous 2 drives!

I’ve never seen the Gophers do anything close to that in my 36 years of fandom. Fleck preaches response, and they responded like no other this year, but for me that was jaw dropping, shocking, awesome, and amazing! It was the ultimate response! Ultimate belief Ultimate mental toughness.

You know, I think I agree. As much as we were maligned for those first three games, that sequence showed what this passing offense was capable of when their backs were to the wall. Of course, things didn't work out quite as well against Iowa and Wisconsin when our backs were to the wall.

Perhaps second was in the very next game when Tanner went 21 of 22 for 396 yards. That was a performance for the ages.

I don't know about the most impressive but we have packed a lot of great moments/accomplishments into one season.

In addition to the ones mentioned:
-Morgan with 2 near perfect games passing. Completing over 90% of your passes is tough to do and he did it twice.
-2 - 1000 yard receivers in the same season
-Gameday

But getting back to the OP, the single most impressive play to me was probably Morgan to Bell for the TD against Fresno State. I still don't know how he got his foot down in bounds.

I remember after they converted it ... I was sure they were going to win.

Like I don't think I've ever been "sure" of a late score win like that, but 2018 they had done such a good job demonstrating that they (for all the other faults) can make big time plays.

This reminds me of a (paraphrasing) statement a former coach repeated from another coach (Bryant? Mack Brown?) Teach the team to go from losing by a lot to losing by a little, then from winning by a little to winning by a lot. Our Gophers are at the later stages of that process. Our team now knows how to win. Hopefully, the team can continue to grow to win by a lot over most opponents and win period against the "elite" teams!
