Now Reusse is saying that there may have been a verbal agreement between USC and Seantral Henderson that they would give him his full release [insert smirk here] as long as he would not go to the U since they play each other the next two years.

Sorry...but it's the middle of summer, and there really ain't much going on.

I heard Henderson was going to announce his new choice on ESPN tomorrow night in an hour-long live special.

I heard Henderson was going to play the role of Jesus in an upcoming movie special.

No way this is true. I'd wager they'd be much more concerned about facing him and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. What's that? Oh, they aren't going to be able to play in the Rose Bowl. Huh. What a shame. Eat it, U$Cheat.

I'm just hopeful that it is true (no idea).
I'm hopeful that is is also against NCAA rules (again, no idea).

During his show today, Reusse also called Brewster an "older, poor-man's Lane Kiffin". What a low-blow! When asked to elaborate he said Brew would say anything to a recruit to get him to commit.

Note: I do not listen to Reusse's show and was only flipping through the dial and heard reference to Henderson, so I decided to listen for a couple of minutes.

-Seantrel's mom has a tatoo that says, "Son"
-He once had an awkward moment...just to see what it was like.

I'm sure Reusse talked to many of the recruits about this to confirm it. There's no way the fat man would just say something without any facts to back it up, would he?

Ya Jesus is going to have some BIG shoes to fill...no doubt!

God was kind of a deadbeat dad, Joseph did the grunt work.

As to the main topic, Ruesse doesn't know anything. I would highley doubt USC would be overly concerned with Minnesota, I think they'd much rather have him go here and then go improve the stock of tOSU or Miami.

It's nice to see that Ruesse feels the need to make up a jab about Brewster as well. Isn't there enough to rip on the program about without having to just spew nonsense?

Pat's reaching on this one. While it's not unheard of for them to place some restriction on his release, I hardly think Kiffin gave two craps about 'facing' him twice with the Gophers.

As for the Brew/Kiffin comparison, it's sort of accurate and at least good for a laugh. In fairness to Brew, while they both share the blow-hard gene at least he doesn't go around making false accusations against other schools every 5 minutes. Kiffin truly is a piece of work.

All I know is that I heard that we are getting Henderson and Walker Ashley in a package deal.

I suspect that USC was more afraid of Henderson applying for a waiver of his LOI then where he goes. The Hendersons would have to lay out all the reasons for the waiver, everything that was said, or promised. I bet there were things that happened that Kiffin would prefer remained secret.

It would make for a great story if Henderson came here and he's playing against the school that first signed him. I'm a hundred percent sure that Henderson is not coming here, because he's not interested in the UofM. I doubt there was some secret deal with Kiffin. Henderson has NEVER taken the UofM that seriously. I don't blame. Until Brewster proves he can win big games on the football field, it's going to be the same old story.

Bingo!

This isn't the first time Reusse has taken an unsubstantiated rumor and blew it out of proportion with regards to Brewster, et al. Reusse has been anti-Brewster from day 1. But to his credit, Brewster has yet to show us anything substantial on the football field. Sometimes I really wonder about the guy. He has some very good qualities, but I think his gradiose ideas for the program (not saying having big goals is wrong) have led to some gaffs, especially in hiring Fisch. Hiring Horton seems at the very least a recognition of errors in philosophy. I want Brew to win for three reasons. One it would be such a jab in the gut to everyone that this little experiment actually worked. It would be hilarious listening to all those critical of our football program try to rationalize the success. Two, if the team wins some big games this fall and goes to a good bowl for once, Brewster will probably produce a top 25 recruiting over the next two years. Boy won't that irk people. Finally, I just want a season the gophers can really hang their hat on. It's hard to know whether or now we are really seeing progress. It would be nice to know. If the team turns in 2-10 season this fall, then chances are strong Brew and his crew will be through. I don't think they will, but a lot of people thought in 2007 that the team wouldn't lose to FAU or NDSU. One thing is for certain, if Brewster gets fired, the U will have to open its wallet, because another experiment won't entice people to buy tickets.

Kiffin said there were no restrictions and no penalties associated with Henderson's release. He would never lie, would he?

My intent wasnt to compate Ashley and Henderson, but merely to point out that some people who think that they are in the know dont know anything. Remember how many people had Ashley coming here, particularly when he left USC? Where is that loser now? Probably working the late shift at Chipotle.
