Apparently there is a 4 star rb that wants to go to play for Bielema but his mom won't sing the LOI haha.

Would be great if that was during a filmed announcement.

I think a more appropriate title to this thread might be "Mom doesn't want kid to leave Florida"

It's kind of comical really.

Or maybe momma finally saw your new coach:

There it is. I was anxiously awaiting the Mandatory BB belly picture since this thread mentioned Arkansas.

Help me out here, I am curious, does mon have to sign because the kid is still 17, can he wait until he turns 18 and sign without his parents consent.

Our hatred for BB has been grandfathered-in. If we didn't put up the belly pick or talk about how BB has cooled on this kid's mom, we wouldn't be being true to ourselves.

He's 18, so he doesn't need her consent. But she grabbed his papers and absconded with them.

DeltaHog, don't take our Bielema-phobia too seriously. It's kind of the observe of what Michael Jordan used to say. About away games, he'd say "the fans want me to score 50 and for the Bulls to lose." It's a bit different here. I don't have anything in particular against Arkansas and wouldn't mind if you won every game, bur I sure want Bielema to look like an idiot as much as possible.

It's hilarious that Ark fired a scoundrel and then hired a rascal. enjoy.

I understand. It doesn't bother me at all.

That was my next question. If the kid is 18, if BB is serious enough about keeping the kid, I'm sure they would have no problem sending additional copies of the paperwork. Assuming, of course, a NLOI isn't as voluminous as, say, a mortgage.

+1 DeltaHog If your Razorbacks would have picked anyone else.... Bielema?, that's tough. Still hope to make it down to Fayetteville some time soon.

BTW What's going on with the Arkansas fans being stupid? I thought we reserved that for WVU fans that ripped our program up and down after Michael Carter signed with the Gophers, then bragged about being the best team to NEVER win a National Title.

Speaking for myself, it's nothing like that at all. Six months ago I had no problem with Arkansas. Now I hope they lose every game, in a horribly embarrassing fashion, until Bielema is fired. I hope he gets caught cheating, and that he gets fined and suspended on his way to earning Ark football the death penalty. Of course, I don't expect any of that to happen. But I can hope.

People aren't really ripping on Arkansas in this thread, we're ripping on Bert.

It's an NCAA Rule and it controls, any player who is under the age of 21, needs a parent or guardian to sign.

The fact that an 18 yr old can freely contract doesn't control, the rule does.

Why does Bielema look like he just got off the Apple River tubing trip in this photo?

This Beilema picture looks like Brett doesn't need his own intertube, he looks like he could just float along with his gutt.

You know a major portion of this story is being missed.......he did not need to sign or have a parent sign the letter of intent. And not having one signed in no way prohibted him from attending the school.

Letter of intents in college sports or the most one sided legal documents ever invented.

Wrong. Major League Baseball contracts prior to the organization of the Major League Baseball Players Association were.
