Ibrahim said having Smith and Brooks on the field with him instead of just coaching him in meetings has been different but good.

“I understand that they’re having a great season,” Ibrahim said. “We’re all complementing each other. So if they need a breather, I hop in. … We rotate backs pretty good. I give credit to Coach [Kenni] Burns. He makes sure everybody gets their carries.”

When the Gophers played against Nebraska on Oct. 12 — another cold and snowy game at TCF Bank Stadium — Minnesota’s rush stacked up 322 yards in one of the ultimate testaments to the Gophers’ running back trio.

In that 34-7 victory, Smith took 18 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown. Brooks followed with 99 yards on 13 attempts. Ibrahim ran 15 times for 84 yards but scored three touchdowns.

“We joke around with it,” Ibrahim said of how the backs wanted him to share the scoring next time. “Whoever’s got the hot hand, they’re going to get in the end zone.”

Go Gophers!!

Love the way that kid punishes d-backs. They’ve got to get tired of him as the game wears on. I sure don’t.

Mo has been an amazing team player and trooper this year, to step aside after having a really great year in 2017, and let RS and SB have their dream senior seasons. And he's still getting a few carries this year.

He (Mo) will be a star the next two years!

I think he's our best late season back. I like the way he runs and is effective in cold weather.

Anyone know his injury states following the Wisconsin game? Appeared to be an are/wrist or shoulder injury.

Looked like he got knocked out possibly. Lots of force to the head and looked to jam his neck.

He got caught from behind by a dlinemen running down the sideline mid third quarter. He is a physical beast tho.

In my opinion probably a better runner than Smith or Brooks. If healthy I don’t see any drop off at RB next season, maybe even an improvement

My thoughts exactly. I feel Mo is better suited for this offense than Smith and arguably has better vision/balance. Smith certainly has more shifty-ness and speed however. They're both very good, but I agree, I think our RB group is just as good if not better next year.
