per the Daily:

It took 12 plays, spanned two minutes and 17 seconds, covered 92 yards, resulted in three points and took sophisticated play-calling the Gophers offense has rarely executed this season.

But when Gophers head coach Jerry Kill recounted Minnesota’s final first-half possession in its 30-14 victory at Michigan on Saturday, he simply called the sequence "The Drive."

After the Wolverines downed a 53-yard Will Hagerup punt, Minnesota started with the ball on its own 1-yard line and the score tied 7-7.

That kind of poor field position is enough to make any coach feel uneasy.

“I said, ‘We just want to get out of here,’” Kill said.

Go Gophers!!

isn't that a 99 yard drive? confused

Watching that drive and seeing them get some points out of it was damn satisfying. Particularly after watching other teams doing that same thing against the Gophers so many times.

In the halftime interview, Coach Kill even referenced Michigan doing the exact same thing to us at the end of the first half last year and suggested it could be a similar momentum shift. Thankfully, he was correct.

While many people may think the "pick 6" was the play of the game, I would lean towards the Leidner third-down, 21-yard-pass to Plsek from our own 6 that made "The Drive" a reality.

Both were great plays but the Plesk catch was huge. When that happened I said to myself, "that's the type of play that winners make." As opposed to what I would be thinking were I a michigan fan, "How did we you give up that play in that situation??!" That's what I'm accustomed to saying, and I know, that losing teams give up those plays in those situations.
