MN Daily: Teague talks facilities, Tubby and his first week at the U

Let's see now:

1. Funds not yet raised for the BB practice facility;
2. Tubby's contract not done yet;
3. No commitment as to keep or cut non-revenue sports.

And he has had a whole week to get these done.

He is a failure.

Would a practice facility on the plot of land behind Williams Arena hinder a potential significant renovation of Williams Arena? I would think the University would need to have some sort of plan for where the Gophers will be playing 10-15 years from now before deciding where to put a practice facility (and maybe that has been done).

What I like about this guy is his understanding that we need a plan...and that the plan needs to include an ongoing and substantial fundraising operation. Building these facilities should not be an event...it should be a process. My biggest criticism of Maturi was his lack of vision on building a fundraising operation that could support all our needs instead of focusing on single purpose fundraising...like he did with TCF and the baseball stadium.

Teague is not only recruiting guys who have experience in building and running fund raising operations but is putting together a plan so we fans know what we need and how much we need.

I guarantee you that we will see a rise in big donations in the next year and a rise in the back bone of fundraising operations...monthly planned donations from smaller donors.
